What do you do to feel more alive, awake, and at ease with yourself? Simple moments like spending more time in nature, hanging out with uplifting friends, a simple self-care routine and listening to your body's needs are a few ways to make a positive impact in your life.
Here's a few things that have helped me live a more fulfilling and happier life.
Find a spiritual path that resonates with you.
I believe this is perhaps the most crucial step. Connect to your true essence in order to know exactly what you want out of life, to find the answers you look for. It's in the quiet moments where the magic happens. Whether it's meditation, a prayer or going for a walk. Whatever it is that makes you feel connected, do it.
Love and accept yourself
"Life is different when you love yourself." Embrace every part of who you are, including the flaws, especially the flaws. Being someone that suffered my whole life hating my body, I can truly say my life changed when I started to fully accept myself and love every part of who I am. Love yourself fiercely. By doing so, you learn to become a little more selfish with who you let in your life, bringing us to the next step below.
Have a support system.
Build yourself an amazing support team. Family, friends, partner, therapist, co-workers. Make sure the people you spend your time with are bringing out the best in you, lifting you high, motivating you to be a better person, supporting your goals and dreams. The very same ones who will be there for you when life feels hard.
Intuitive Eating
Listen to what your body is asking for. Adapt to the 80/20 rule, 80% of the time try to fuel your body with wholesome foods, packed with necessary nutrients to help you feel your best, after all you are what you eat. But some days only sugar and gluten will do, and that's okay too. Allow yourself to have those 20% without guilt. Learn to let go of perfectionism and understand that sometimes the unhealthy option is the healthiest option. Balance is key.
Spend time outdoors.
Nature is healing. One of the main reasons why I moved to LA was because of the abundance of outdoor activities there is. Every so often I go to the beach or for a hike. It brings me happiness and it connects me to the feeling of gratitude. There's something special about being in nature that makes you appreciate life. Don't ever go too long without watching a sunset.
Doing more things that bring you happiness.
What are the things that truly make you feel happy? The kind of thing that makes you forget about time? Whether it's reading a book, doing a course, playing a sport, drawing, painting... find that thing that sparks your light and make more time for it.
Self-care routine.
Learn to make more time for yourself and incorporate small rituals into your routine. Pamper yourself. A nice hot bath with eucalyptus, or my personal favorite, a skin care routine, which I started implementing in my daily routine after I discovered VitaVibe Organic products. It is 100% natural and organic and made with pure with love. While I use it, I love to recite the mantras as indicated in the instructions. Not only am I taking care of my skin, I am also nurturing my soul. My personal favorites are the Herbal Healing Salve and the Cleo Toner.
Start and end your day with gratitude.
A habit so simple yet so powerful. Each day is a gift, expressing our gratitude for all of our daily blessings helps us attract more happiness, abundance, peace and fulfillment into our lives. Learn to appreciate this magical and mysterious miracle called life.
Implementing these simple steps into your days can have a huge impact in your overall health and quality of life. Magic happens in our day to day and in the little things we do consistently. Find a routine that sets your soul on fire and build your life around it. It is so worth it.
